24" Desert Willow
The Desert Willow (Chilopsis linearis) is a beautiful, drought-tolerant small tree or large shrub native to the Southwestern U.S. and Mexico. It’s prized for its delicate, trumpet-shaped flowers and airy, willow-like foliage.
Key Characteristics:
Height: Typically 15–25 feet tall and wide.
Form: Open, multi-trunked or single-trunk tree with a graceful, irregular shape.
Leaves: Long, narrow, willow-like leaves (hence the name), deciduous in winter.
Flowers: Showy, trumpet-shaped blooms in shades of pink, purple, and white from late spring through fall.
Fruit: Long seed pods that resemble beans, often persistent through winter.
